Joining the collective is EASY: Even if you have never registered the old fashioned way you can log right in with your Facebook, Google, Yahoo, AOL, or Open ID account! With respect to your privacy settings, basic profile information will be automatically transferred to your Life On Blast profile.
I call the Life On Blast social network a "collective" because that is just what it is meant to be: An extension of the Life On Blast website, where you can take your own ideas and share them with each other. You can upload unlimited photos, video, and audio. You can have your own blog and import the RSS from any other blog or website, including your Twitter or your Tumblr. Add friends, post on each others wall, email, check out the latest media from the entire community and share your own. Participate in conversation on the Message Boards, create and join groups... and *much* more! There is really nothing you can't do here and I have gone out of my way to make the environment as interactive as possible.
I emphatically encourage you to utilize the option to post and comment using video. Life On Blast is a place to Get Real: if you have something to say, say it to their face. Anonymity on the web is *so* last year. If video isn't your thing, utilize the audio comment option. The goal here is to make the Life On Blast website and the Life On Blast social network: a genuine collective of expression.
The media tells us what to think via movies, television, magazines... and now: on the internet as well. Unless we talk about who we really are, how we really feel, and what we really think about everything from music to politics to religion to art to relationships etc.: *that* is the legacy our generation will leave behind. It's what the general population will buy into.
This is where you use your unique voice to express what you *really* feel about things. Your collective voices will express overall a more authentic message as to who we really are as a generation. You might find yourself validated, you might find yourself frustrated: I hope either way, you find yourself liberated.
The Life On Blast collective is not meant to replace your current social network (Facebook/MySpace etc.) but more to be an extension community. A satellite. A place to not only connect: but converse.
